9:30 am & 11:30 am. Reservations are required for our 9:30 am Mass. Save your seat HERE. No reservations required for the 11:30 am Mass.

If you have saved a seat for the 9:30 am Mass but aren't able to attend, please make a point to return your tickets - even on Sunday morning - so that others can attend. Seating at the door is not guaranteed.

CURRENT MESSAGE SERIES

Are you anxious? You’re not alone. There are many things making us anxious right now - the pandemic, virtual learning, racial unrest, and this election. But it doesn’t have to be that way-- God doesn’t want us to live in a state of constant anxiety. Our next message series, Anxious for Nothing, will talk about what God has to say about anxiety and how to overcome it. Based on Philippians 4:4 - 8, together we'll discover how God wants more for us - how we truly can be Anxious for Nothing.

SERVE

Have a kid who likes to sing? We're excited to be formed a Virtual Children's Choir for this Christmas. Children's Choir is open to all those in grades 3 - 8. We'll be sharing more information in a Zoom call for kids and a parent on Monday, October 19 at 7 pm.

Our Tech Ministry is in need of volunteers!

Each week it takes 3 tech volunteers to livestream our Mass.

We need:

Screen Techs - this involves clicking to each screen used during the Mass in a program similar to PowerPoint.

Camera Techs - this person clicks to one of 4 difference camera scenes during the Mass - the altar, the ambo, music group or full screen on a preset computer program.

Audio Techs - this person listens to the sound to make sure that our mics are at the right level and that the music is balanced.

Training is provided for all volunteer positions.

We livestream on Saturdays at 5 pm.

With so many ministries unable to serve in their usual way right now,

consider this an invitation to try something new!

Our parish has supported S.O.M.E. (So Others May Eat) for over a generation through our financial support, volunteers and sandwich ministry. As we approach winter, a new need has arisen.

S.O.M.E. is in need of donations of new or gently used adult socks. You can drop them off in the bin outside of the school entrance on Tuesdays or Thursdays from 8 am - 2 pm. Thank you in advance for your generosity.

Our Sandwich Ministry is an outgrowth of our parish's support of SOME, a soup kitchen in DC. This is a great way to help feed the hungry that can be done at home, perhaps with your family or small group.

Sandwiches should be only meat and cheese, sealed in a baggie. They can be delivered to the coolers located in the school entranceway on October 22nd from 8 am - 2 pm.

Help us pay tribute to our Veterans during the month of November. Please email photos of veterans you'd like to honor to admin@spxbowie.org before November 4, 2020. Be sure to include rank, name and branch.

If you are unable to email your photo, please bring it to in person Mass, Communion for Online worshippers or daily Mass. It will be returned to you the following week.

Thanksgiving Day reminds us to be grateful for all we have; not just on this day but every day of our lives. As we prepare to celebrate, let's reflect on the reasons we have to be thankful! This year, we would like to know what YOU, our parishioners, are grateful for. Your submission will be shared with the parish on Thanksgiving Day! Each week since March, hundreds of families have joined us at SPX Online. In order to continue to provide a quality online experience while also minimizing the visual impact for our public Masses, we have invested in quality camera and sound upgrades. These upgrades also give us the ability to livestream not just pre-record.

Thus far we have invested $18,357.50. There are also ongoing costs such as software, batteries, and keeping our computers in top shape to prevent issues.

Thank you to those who have generously offered their financial support. Thus far we have received $9,505.00 towards our Technology Appeal. This leaves $9,307.50 still to be funded.
